Denmark, 1950. It has been around 21 years since passing of the castration law, which was used to protect society from sex offenders and “liberate” gay men from their homosexual desires. Chris Jorgensen, a 24 year old photographer from the US, is going on a long journey over the ocean to Scandinavia for getting a sex-change surgery and accelerate the development of trans medicine in Scandinavia.

"Hi! I’m Kai (they/them), a Ukrainian illustrator based in Berlin. I’m interested in themes of gender, identity, and queer history, so when Ketil Slagstad came to UdK to give a lecture and introduced us to his book Standardising Sex: A History of Trans Medicine, I knew it was the text I wanted to work with. I found it particularly exciting to explore how a scientific non fiction could be translated into a comic."
